Fall Wedding Centerpiece- Utah Wedding Florist

A few weeks back I had the oppotunity to work on a personal project for fall. I wanted to challenge myself to create something that I wouldn't usually. A natural and organic centerpiece left unstructured. I have to say that I absolutely fell in love with it. I loved how the colors complimented each other but were unexpected.
Tiffany Anderson Photography was kind enough to photograph this beauty for me. I adore how they turned out! Don't you!?

Flowers used: Cafe dahlias, pampass grass, ranunculus, spray roses, delphinium, explosion grass, airbrushed copper salal, snowberries, amaranthus, cymbidium orchids, lambs ear and sahara roses.

Bridal Bouquet- Utah Wedding Florist

An amazing photographer and great friend Mikki Platt asked me to construct a last minute bouquet for one of her brides. Mikki is THE MOST genuine person I have ever met; hands down! One of the things I love most about Mikki, is that she is fully invested, mind body and soul into her work and her brides. That's why when she contacted me and asked if I could help her out, I didn't hesitate for a minute. Mikki knows the importance of flowers for a shoot and how much it adds.

I couldn't be happier with these amazing images from a dear friend!

Flowers used: Coral amaryllis (my new fav), free spirit roses, coral hypericum, astilbe, gerbs, dusty miller, fever few and coral charm peonies.

Utah Mountain Ranch Wedding- Utah Wedding Florist

Labor Day 2013 was host to this amazing ranch wedding shot by Melissa Kelsey Photography. We were contacted by Ms Donna Urban of Donna Urban Events to execute the florals for this Sunday fete. Donna is a designer new to Utah from Cali so we were ecstatic when she asked us to be a part of her son's wedding celebration.

Kate and Dan's wedding took place at the BOW-L ranch in Peoa, UT. An amazing, amazing fly fishing ranch that spans over acres of lush farmland. The epitome of rustic and the perfect setting for this beautiful couple. Donna and her team did an outstanding job of executing every last detail of this 2 day event.

Kate's bouquet was a stunner. A cascade style bouquet consisting of tangerine garden roses, dahlias, scabiosa, anemones, agonis, begonia leaves, tulips, ferns, geranium leaf, butterfly weed and amaryllis. Over the top and B-E-A-Utiful! The head piece was designed and executed by Donna herself. Beautiful, right?

The farmhouse tables were adorned with lush designs of agonis, geranium leaf, begonia leaf, smokebush and artichokes. All in shades of dark purples and accented with fresh pomegranates, kumquats and tangerines.

Isn't Dan, the groom, a handsome gent? His boutonniere was made up of scabiosa blooms, fresh evergreen from the ranch, butterfly weed and mini pinecones also sourced from the ranch. All was wrapped in twine.
Donna and her staff hand made each of these fly fishing twigs which were placed at each table setting. So charming!
The property was so beautiful! We arrived there early in the morning and it was so lovely to just relax in the great outdoors while constructing the centerpieces.

Happy Halloween

Revisiting some oldies but goodies today for Halloween! I put this shoot together 3 years ago if you believe it!
With a palate of black, white and gold, I brought new life to a deadly graveyard. A bold striped runner was accented with simple florals and height added from varying candlesticks. This was also the day that I met, what was soon to be a dear friend, Mollie of Polka Dots & Daisies. Who knew we would be now running a design blog together!? If you haven't seen it already be sure to check it out.

Fall Wedding Inspiration Shoot- Utah Wedding Florist

As of late, I have strayed away from doing inspiration shoots. They have become a dime a dozen. A tool that was once used to give inspiration and original ideas to brides, has become an overused and overplayed marketing tool. On average, a photoshoot for a florist/event designer costs around $500-$600 in florals and decor. A hefty price to pay for a a few hours, so you can see why I've chosen to be picky with whom I share my talents with.
Now I love a great inspiration shoot just as much as the next person. It's a way for us artist to construct something from the soul. No restrictions, no boundaries. Plus we get amazing photos out of the deal.

This past month I was asked by a dear photographer friend Jessica White to participate in an inspiration shoot. I've worked with Jessica before so I knew that being a part of this shoot would be a great opportunity for Branches. Boy was I right! I absolutely LOVED the freedom she gave me and I think that shows through the designs. This shoot was one of my favorites ever! I love fall so naturally I found it near to my heart.

Enjoy the inspiration!

We chose to adorn the arbor with a fresh salal garland and placed large blooms of antique hydrangea, hanging amaranthus and peach spray roses. It added a softness to the piece and the texture it needed.

Our chosen palate was one of peach, wine, raspberry, pear and moss with touches of gold. All yummy fall favorites.

For the florals, I kept things very textural and bold. I used giant peach amaryllis, pampass grass, tulips, spray roses, raspberry branches, pepperberry, astilbe, antique hydrangea, garden roses, amaranthus and begonia leaf. We accented the table with gilded apples, peaches and fresh pears. MMMM!

We kept the cake fairly simple with a single accent. We then placed a plethora of feathers at the base of the cake which was one of our favorite pieces.
